MatSoc has organised a UNIQUE visit to Mercedes High Performance Powertrains in Brixworth on Monday Week 8 (15th June). At Brixworth, Mercedes manufacture thermal systems, engines, F1 components and more for the Mercedes team, so it will be an extremely interesting visit. Mercedes' engine is arguably the key factor in their current championship lead so it will be interesting to find out how they are enhancing their engine within the tight F1 regulations! We will also be given the opportunity to meet materials engineers who can offer valuable insights into materials science in an F1 team.
On Monday 15th June, we will be meeting on Keble road (next to the department) at 7am for a swift departure at 7:20am. The visit at Mercedes Brixworth starts at 9am and will end at around 11am. We will then head back to Oxford for a return at around 1:30pm.
