MatSoc brings together over 150 current materials science students at the University of Oxford, as well as extending event invites to students in the department who aren't officially members if there are remaining spaces once members have had chance to sign up. Graduates from Oxford Materials go on to take a broad range of careers, some staying in the sector, others moving into consultancy or finance, but all engaging the skills they learned along the way.
As a sponsor, you will have the opportunity to interact with our membership base, as well as supporting the society and help us to facilitate bigger and better events from our members. Our sponsorship packages are flexible, and can be tailored to meet the needs of your company. Annual Careers and Networking Event
As a MatSoc Sponsor, you will get a priority invite to our annual careers and networking event, where you can directly talk to MatSoc members about your company, graduate schemes, job programmes and more. It gives you the chance to meet our members in person, and in the introductory and welcome presentation for the evening, you will be directly addressed and thanked as a sponsor company, and given the opportunity to be one of the first to talk, enabling you to stay fresh in their minds for the rest of the evening.
Advertising Internships and Graduate Programmes
As a sponsor of MatSoc, we will be able to share any Internships and Graduate Programmes your company may offer with our members, enabling you to engage with members who have relevant talents and skillsets but may not have otherwise found your opportunities. This will help you to connect with the next generation of materials
Lunchtime and Evening Talks
MatSoc sponsors are invited to give lunchtime or evening talks to our members, where just your company can talk in detail about what you do, and the graduate and internship opportunities you offer, to raise awareness of your work to our members. We are very flexible and can host these in one of the department's lecture theatres, or we can facilitate events over video conferencing at a time which is convenient for you.
Website Features
As a sponsor, you will be officially listed on our website with a company bio, and a link to your website and social media pages. Your company can also be promoted on our relevant active social media pages as per your wishes.
Industrial Visits
As part of the MEng Materials Science degree, students in their 2nd and 3rd years are required to attend and write reports on four industrial visits, and every year, MatSoc aims to organise at least one of our own. Sponsors get first priority on these industrial visits, and this gives you the opportunity to show our members around your site, in the early stages of their undergraduate degrees, often before they have chosen options. These visits are a wonderful opportunity to show your company in action and get on the radar of our members, for when they start applying for internships and graduate jobs later in their careers.
